It's easy to stop eating sugar once you actually stop, if that makes sense. I haven't had any "added" sugar in months. And, I'm happy as ever. It just takes reading the labels and finding other things to replace. I'm amazed how little people really know. In watching that episode, I'm thinking, "Duh, those meals have lots of sugar." But, I guess I've learned a lot over the years...not that I've always given those foods up, but at least I was aware of their sugar content. P.S. I have a cookbook that you'd really like, I think. Remind me to give it to you.
I'm feeling really lucky that my parents are diabetic and I learned this stuff years ago. I knowlingly snack on candy and other crap, but cut out a lot of hidden sugars a long time ago. I shouldn't be grateful for my parents's illness, but the knowledge I've gained from it has been a blessing. We'll have to talk next time I see you about 'replacements', etc.
